Kenya’s ambassador to Guinea Isaac Parashina presents credentials to junta leader, eyes stronger ties

Parashina, who is based in Abuja, Nigeria, serves concurrently as Kenya's top diplomat to Benin, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), covering a wide bloc of West African nations.

Kenya's ambassador to junta-led Guinea, Isaac Parashina, has presented his credentials to transitional leader Mamady Doumbouya, signalling Nairobi's intent to strengthen diplomatic ties with the West African nation.

"Honoured to represent Kenya in advancing our shared vision with the Republic of Guinea," Parashina wrote on his X account, adding that "the mission remains committed to fostering stronger bilateral ties and exploring new frontiers of cooperation in trade, investment, and sustainable development."

The credentials ceremony took place in Conakry, Guinea's capital.

President William Ruto, who has previously condemned military coups—calling Niger's 2023 army takeover "a serious setback" for Africa—has in recent months softened his public stance, receiving envoys from several junta-led nations at State House, Nairobi.
